In Central Africa in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Protestant order "Christustraeger Bruderschaft" from Unterfranken has been operating a children's hospital since 1980. The order-like Protestant Brotherhood is active in various places with different tasks in the social sector in Switzerland, at two locations in Germany, in Afghanistan and Africa.
At the beginning of the 20th century, American Baptists founded a missionary station in the village of Vanga in the Congo, from which many local communities, schools and a large hospital emerged. Penniless patients are also treated. A daily challenge is the power supply. There is no public power grid in Vanga. Only a few hours a day, energy from large diesel generators is available for operations in the children's clinic. Nevertheless, diesel is expensive and the transport alone is often combined with difficulties and high risks.
ADS-TEC provides a storage system to ensure round-the-clock power supply for the hospital and the entire ward. In cooperation with the company Vesofast, which supplies the solar system, and the responsible persons of the Brotherhood, a suitable system was put together. Employees of the Brotherhood have already been trained for operation at ADS-TEC in advance. The battery system is now on its long journey to Africa.
It is the StoraXe storage system "PowerBooster", which is designed in a mini container as a closed complete system including control, inverter and air conditioning especially for outdoor use. With a capacity of 120 kWh and an output of 100 kW, it can provide the stored solar power whenever there is no sunshine.
