ABSTRACT:
In the course of the energy transition conventional power plants have to be decomissioned before reaching the end of their lifetime. At the same time the need for large scale storage is increasing because more and more variable renewable energy sources are penetrating the energy systems. The presentation will show a practical example case in which a conventional power plant is converted into an emission-free energy storage system.
