Secure Housings in GVI®-Technology for High Temperature Batteries
As known, Sodium-Sulfur- and Sodium-Nickel-Chloride-System are working in a temperature-range of 300 to 350°C. To enable operations of those batteries even after a longer period of standstill – without energy-consumption for heating – there is a strong demand for well-insulated battery housings/ envelopes. More over the housing should protect the battery (modules and cells) in case of an accident. This means protection against mechanical stress as well as protection of the environment (e.g. retention of chemical components).
